Calcium Chloride
Calcium Chloride is the trade name for Calcium Chloride (CaCI2), a highly soluble chemical compound appearing as a white crystal. The following are the main consuming sectors of Calcium Chloride:
- Oil field drilling as mud additive
- Completion fluids
- De-icing
- Desiccant
- Dust control
- Road construction and maintenance
- Concrete acceleration
- Tire weighting
- Paper Manufacturing
- Drying and dehydrating agent
- Sand stabilization
- Other industrial applications
There are mainly two grades of Calcium Chloride (77% Flakes and 94% Granules).
Calcium Chloride is produced mainly via the Synthetic Process as a by-product of the Solvay process of Soda Ash production.
Calcium Chloride Flake is a purified inorganic salt produced by removing water from the Calcium Chloride Brine solution thru the evaporation process. Usually used in the petroleum industry such as for drilling as mud additive, additive to oil well completion fluids, Cementing finished oil wells and drying petroleum fractions. Use also for de-icing, desiccant, dust control, road construction and maintenance, concrete acceleration, tire weighting, and paper manufacturing.
Calcium Chloride Granule is a purified inorganic salt produced by removing water from the Calcium Chloride Brine solution through an evaporation process. Usually used in the petroleum industry, such as drilling, mud additive, additive to oil well completion fluids, cementing finished oil wells, and drying petroleum fractions. The product is also used in concrete acceleration, dust control, and other industrial applications.
