Saudi Flag Day

March 11, 2023

On March 11, 1937, corresponding to the 27th of Dhu al-Hijjah 1355 AH, the date was chosen to mark the day that the former King, Abdulaziz Al Saud authorized the flag as a representation of the Kingdom.

The flag represents the religion of Islam, justice, strength, development, and prosperity. The green flag shows an Arabic message and a sword in white. The message is the Muslim profession of faith that translates to: “There is no god but God; Muhammad is the prophet of God.” The sword designed on the Saudi flag is a symbol of the House of Saud which is the founding empire of the country. The swords also illustrate the strength and power of Saudi Arabia. The flag is made with identical obverse and reverse sides, to ensure the shahada reads correctly, from right to left, from both sides.

Saudi Arabia celebrates Flag Day on March 11and that it is to become an annual event. Flag Day is marked every year and honored as an opportunity in the Kingdom to recognize the nation’s flag and celebrate national pride.

The value of the national flag extends throughout the history of Saudi Arabia, since its founding in 1139 AH – 1727 AD. Therefore, on this day, InoChem celebrates the national occasion where all the members took from it a banner of pride, so let us celebrate the beautiful colors of our flag with patriotism and high spirits.

Happy Saudi Flag Day! It is a reminder that we all are very proud of our country, culture, and the flag, as it not only represents our country but hence represents us!

Warm wishes on this day to all.
